The Society recognizes excellence in Nova Scotia’s legal profession and among law students with several awards:
The Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia honours lawyers through the Queen’s Counsel process, which recognizes exceptional practising lawyers who have 15 or more years at the Bar and have demonstrated professional integrity, good character and outstanding contributions to the practice of law. Appointees are recommended by the Advisory Committee on Queen’s Counsel Appointments.
