Dal Law Hour ft. Justice Christa Brothers
Dalhousie Law Hour provides a one hour lecture each week geared at engaging our student body and surrounding community with presentations from prominent legal, academic, and political minds of the day.This forum provides an excellent opportunity to connect the legal issues and ideas learned in law school with how the law actually works in everyday life. Law Hour has been an institution at Dalhousie since the 1960's and has had tremendous support from students, faculty and members of the community.
This Law Hour will feature a talk from Justice Christa Brothers, QC.
Justice Christa Brothers, QC, is an alumna of the Schulich School of Law, and was appointed to the Nova Scotia Supreme Court just this past July 2017. Previously, Justice Brothers was a Partner at Stewart McKelvey, and she received her Queen's Counsel designation in 2014. Throughout her career, Justice Brothers has demonstrated leadership and a commitment to excellence and equality. Justice Brothers was also named Lawyer of the Year in personal injury litigation by Best Lawyers in 2017, was Chair of the Complaints Investigation Committee of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society from 2014 to 2017, and appointed Second Vice President of NSBS this year.
